[Podcast] The Constant
I have fallen in love with the Constant. It's a weird history podcast, but it's so much more. It's focus is on things that people screwed up or got wrong, but the guy does incredible research. And he tells great stories, with connections you'd never expect. Currently I'm listening to some older epis...

All it took for Chuck Woolery to acknowledge that Coronoa virus isn't a lie perpetrated by the CDC and Democrats is his son getting infected.

Re: All things COVID-19
The CEO of the school system I work for is supposed to discuss the plan for reopening in about 20 minutes. I'm guessing it's going to be a list 3-4 things they might do, rather than an actual plan. That's what my kids' school district did. Without any real federal guidance, everyone is making it up...

Re: Republicans
You've got to love the fact that Trump has a rally in NH, but the governor isn't attending because of Covid. So it's okay for Trump voters to risk illness but not the governor. Another example of Republicans feeling that rules are important, but they don't apply to me. The best part is that governor...

Re: Statues of Intolerance
Is that the one that at one point was called Ten Little Indians? One of Agatha Christie's books had to change it's title at least twice because of that. Although the problematic words are still in the book itself, I think.

I know how you feel, though I have more bad days than good. I always feel like my friends give me really low priority. Then again I think I deserve to be given low priority.
Gotta admire the hermetically sealed perfection of the system.

Kids 5e D&D
I started playing D&D with my daughters, and they love it. It’s cool watching them figure things out; they have no background with D&D so they don’t know the tropes that experienced players do, so they come up with clever plans. I’ve also been hitting really hard the idea that no race is inh...

Re: Movie Review Thread
You researching Haig? Are you writing a Haig biography? a Hiagiography? No. My wife (and me, to a lesser extent) is a Watergate junkie. So she watched those (which she's seen many times before). We just happened to watch the Iron Lady, and Haig is briefly in it. I went to Loyola in Baltimore, a Cat...

Re: Movie Review Thread
This past weekend I watched 3 movies, and in each of them Alexander Haig was portrayed by a different actor: "The Final Days"--a TV movie based on the sequel to "All the President's Men." David Ogden Stiers is Haig, and he's a huge part of the movie. He's quite good; he always se...
Re: Trump
I can't believe that Trump would drop out. I think he'd rather lose (even lose badly) and then blame cheating, the media, and everyone else for losing.

Re: Graphic Novels
The Spirit is a masked crime fighter; no superpowers. And it's incredibly creative and ahead of its time. For example, there's a story about how there can't be a story this week because the artist couldn't complete it by the deadline, and several other times that break the fourth wall. The writing i...
