Re: Graphic Novels
To get a bit of the history of comics, I've been reading some of Will Eisner's The Spirit. And it's a revelation! It's so good! I can't believe it was done in the 40s and 50s--it seems much more modern.
Re: Trump
At his rally, Trump said he ordered testing to be slowed so there would be fewer cases. (This is pathologically stupid; as someone put it on Twitter, by Trump's logic if he orders the halt of issuing death certificates, we'd have zero Covid deaths!) His press people say he was joking. Trump himself ...

MLK
I was listening to King's speech where he says that "A riot is the language of the unheard." I'm about halfway through, and he's already used the words "ontological" and "monistic." It's nice to hear someone who knows big words and isn't afraid to say them.

Re: All things COVID-19
Back at school to pack up my stuff. They staggered the teachers coming in, so it's mostly empty. It feels really weird.
Re: Democrats
I think that the fact that Harris was a prosecutor is going to be a serious impediment to her getting the VP slot.

Re: The Military
One thing I don't get about the military is how they claim to be non-political. They lobby Congress; they stage events for the President; unofficially, they leak information to friendly members of Congress and supporters in order to advance their cause. Why do people believe that the military is apo...

Re: This Happened
I've been feeling better for the last few days. I don't expect it to last--I know myself too well--but I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts.

Re: Trump
Chuck Grassley said he'd block new appointment until there's an explanation for the firings of inspectors general. It's something at least but it reminds me of the old saying that is along the lines of closing the barn door after the cows have already gotten out. Many judges rated unqualified were ...

Re: What's YOUR problem?
Two people, two, a big two, having stressful visits to the doctor today, and I can't go with them due to the covid, and I am so worried about what the results will be that I am not able to still my body from twitching nervously! Grrr. I'm going to lay here with my stuffed animal now, y'all. Sounds ...
Re: Trump
Lisa Murkowski, and basically just admitted that she's a coward: "When I saw General Mattis' comments yesterday I felt like perhaps we are getting to a point where we can be more honest with the concerns that we might hold internally and have the courage of our own convictions to speak up."
Re: Trump
I don't like saying his name, but also I don't like giving him nicknames, making fun of his weight or his makeup, or his hair, or his original last name. Why stoop to his level? I mean "be best," right? But..... "bunkerboy" might win me over. Speaking of nicknames, wanna know ho...
Re: Trump
According to the Washington Post, Trump tried to register to vote in Florida while stating his legal address as the White House. So, in other words, Trump attempted to commit voter fraud. I think he actually ended up committing voter fraud--he switched his official address to Mar a Lago, but in Flor...
