Re: Calendar (September 2019-Present)

Are we thinking about trying to do a make-up session for last week or not?

Re: Tahlvin Will Probably Kill This Unkillable Thread

Your snooze lets you sleep for NINE minutes? Wow! Mine is only five... that's why I never use it. It's sooooo not worth it!

Re: What are you watching?

The "while asleep" dampens the positive review a bit... ;)

Re: Disney+

Well, when I replaced my phone, I had to update our plan in order to get the deal they were offering on the phone that I got, which resulted in our plan now qualifying for the free 6 months of Disney+.

Re: What are you watching?

I keep lazily paying for CBS All Access without actually watching the shows that I got it to watch... Nether my daughter (who is a big fan of Seven of Nine, but, I mean... how many people who are attracted to females AREN'T fans of Seven of Nine at least in some fashion?) nor myself have managed to ...

Re: 16th Annual Nerd Pride Deadpool (2020)

In related news, the Washington Post seems to have a strange sense of humor when it comes to ad placement... in this article about Jim Lehrer's death, in the section about his career, it mentions a quote about the original McNeil/Lehrer Report had this quote: “Admirers of ‘The MacNeil/Lehrer Report’...

Re: Calendar (September 2019-Present)

Future FYI. I am scheduled for sinus surgery on February 27th, so I doubt that I'll be up to gaming that night. It's always possible that I might be able to login, but if I base things on the last time I had this type of surgery done, I was pretty out of it for at least 36 to 48 hours and couldn't r...

Re: What are you watching?

I can't imagine derivative works would be discouraged. Probably with copyright laws. If derivative works were seriously discouraged in Japan, then Comiket and other major Doujin expos wouldn't exists. For the most part, they encourage young artists to create works that are homages to the works they...

Re: What are you watching?

I think the ending of C&T ["To be continued.... In Your Mind"] might be Watanabe giving a tip of the hat to acknowledge the fact that the endgame of his shows are the style they are on purpose. He does "life goes on" endings. (I haven't watched all of Bebop, though and I know...

Re: What are you watching?

I recently watched the Netflix sponsored Anime series Carole & Tuesday . This is a slice-of-life series about two musicians living on Mars. It takes place nearly 50 years after the Mars colony was founded, with no clear indication of exactly how far in the future that is, though there are a coup...

Re: Xin Shalast Discussion

We should be able to find out pretty quickly if Dothan can identify the vulture headed guards of the livestock. Supersizing ourselves... not really something that I expect will work well. I DO expect that we would need to try to disguise ourselves to LOOK like we were of one of the races in question...

[OTAKU] “WORLD END ECONOMiCA” gets Kickstarter for an animation project

I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with this game, but it is a three part visual novel created by Isuna Hasekura, the author of the Spice & Wolf light novel series, as well as its sequel, Wolf & Parchment , and, the lesser known manga series Billionaire Girl about an ordinary college st...

Re: 16th Annual Nerd Pride Deadpool (2020)

Only one small issue... Charlie Sheen was my legacy pick... but I did single him out at the top, so that's why you probably missed it.

I'm willing to forego that, since I like the mix of old and young in my list.
