Re: Trump
I get campaign managers never quitting, showing future clients that you'll stay loyal through thick and thin. But when your client gives you covid, maybe quitting would show future clients to not fuck with your health and safety.
Re: Trump
They say they misspoke but who the hell knows. Doctors aren't supposed to be this wrong. I was curious and checked George Conway's twitter and my goodness, he's amplifying it all. Noting that Trump may have gotten it earlier, put people in his orbit at risk, etc. I gotta say, it's kinda messed up. W...

Re: Weekly trivia
I got a new one finally, and again music related
Who named his band after an occurrence that previously happened 15 years before he was born and didn't again until 5 years after his death?

Re: Trump
When many in the Iranian leadership contracted covid, it was a clear sign to all of how foolish they were, putting on airs of invincibility, ignoring protocol, even claiming their perfect genes will protect them.

Feeling all those feels. When I said "my empathy is not selective" I meant that more as a goal.

He's off to Walter Reed.... by himself... for a few days... as a precaution.
Re: Trump
My empathy isn't selective. Get well soon. But also that empathy doesn't cloud the facts.
You can believe this is an October Surprise or you can believe this was an inevitability precipitated by ones own actions.
I wonder if he'll count this as a blue state or red state transmission.

Re: Music Music Music
0lj1e8HVuq0 Did I need a bass-led cover of Miles Davis' "All Blues"? I guess so! I absolutely love Ron Carter's bass playing, which I guess isn't a drastic statement to make, after all he's listed as the most recorded jazz bassist of all time. But slowly realizing how much he plays into p...

Oooooooh!!! Freud relates the story of a man who was accused by his neighbour of having returned a kettle in a damaged condition and the three arguments he offers. That he had returned the kettle undamaged That it was already damaged when he borrowed it That he had never borrowed it in the first pla...

Re: Republicans
One thing I'm absolutely sick of is the "throwing-shit at the wall and seeing what sticks" defense of everything. It's kinda like gaslighting, but maybe should have a different name, though the purposeful disorientation is the same. Shitlighting? Trumps taxes: they're fake, they're illegal...

Good luck and vibes everyone. You talkin robot vibes and its recent appearance on the RS list had me checking out Robyn's Body Talk again. This one, of course produced by Max Martin. The cheerleading "hey"s are totally a bridge between his work with Britney and his later work with Taylor. ...
Re: Trump
Eeep, glad to know his wife is ok. One thing that I'd like to improve on myself, is when hearing a negative story on Trump, fearing it won't matter, and when hearing a (seemingly) positive one, fearing it'll convince all the undecideds. It's exhausting. And for the most part, I've been most wrong ab...
Re: Trump
I'm pretty worried still, even minus any :shenanigans: that it's very likely at this point that Democrats will win the popular vote in every election but one in the last thirty years, from 1992 to 2020, and alarmingly possible that the GOP will still be in power next year, and instead of realizing t...
Re: Trump
You know his recent statements are worrying some in the GOP since both Romney and Rubio issued tweets affirming the American experiment and peaceful transitions, without expressing who they are responding to.

Re: All things COVID-19
I mean, NYS did make a mistake there, for sure, it's was a bad mistake, and I'm fine with comeuppance for any malfeasance, but from what I can tell it was an early mistake when covid transmission was still confusing, hospitals were being overloaded, and was not at all why the numbers in the state we...

Halloween in the Time of Covid
What y'all doing for Halloween? Here's what the CDC recommends, which is surprisingly direct and strict given their recent waffling on everything else. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/holidays.html#halloween I think our top priorities are 1. get candy 2. show off kids' co...

Rolling Stone released their new 500 greatest albums list and I will be analyzing for the next decade. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/best-albums-of-all-time-1062063/jay-z-the-blueprint-3-1063183/ My first quick take is excitement seeing more women on the list. Re: All things COVID-19
Talking NY as the US hits 200K deaths (a reminder to be very sad and very angry at this number) 6% of US lives here. 22% of the first 100K were from NY 2% of the next 100K were from NY If every state went down the same rate as NY starting in late May, the US deaths would be at about 88,000 less. (I ...
