I mean just so I'm not cluttering the TRUMP thread with this, what I assume will be 5,000 articles between now and his loss in November(and beyond)

Yup. Biden wants to present himself as a moderate.
It's the reason I won't support him in the primary. But it's also his biggest selling point: Hey, I'm way better than Trump AND I'm not some liberal socialist extremist. Times are scary, so retreat to the comfortable status quo of the Obama years. Dont rock the boat... vote for an electable white guy.
Also, for rich and upper middle class white folk (his primary source of cash), he holds the promise of not taking too much of your money away to give to poor people. Bonus!
And if he's the nominee, I'll vote for him over Trump for sure. But it will be an anti-Trump vote and not pro-Biden.

That's a really unfair and misleading headline. He's not saying anything remotely like that in the ad. Obviously he's trying to make people trust his commitment to the healthcare issue by talking about what a big deal it has been for him to deal with his family's health crises; he is trying to connect emotionally with all of us who deal with a family healthcare crisis in this crappy system. To me that's not an effective method of making the case, because I want policy details, but he's appealing to people on an emotional/trust level and that is going to be more effective for the general election if he wants to peel off Trump voters. Many of those people will look at Biden and see a good guy they feel comfortable with. That's huge, even if it shouldn't be. So all this ad proves to me is that he knows how to reach out to swing voters who were dumb enough to elect somebody like Trump, yet are still reachable in 2020.
The more interesting question is whether he's right about how to reform healthcare policy. Or whether democrats should pick him if he would depress turnout for voters who really need to show up all hands on deck, despite appealing more broadly than others in the D field.
I happen to think he's right that we are not ready for something like Medicare for all or the abolition of private insurance, and talking about it that way it's going to be a huge turnoff to a lot of voters, not to mention giving an opening to Republicans (beyond Trump) whose feet should be held to the fire for failing and punting on this issue completely, but could then argue that at least they don't want to screw up the status quo, which works for many people better than the scary unknown prospect of a national system. Keep in mind that many people have dealt with the oppressive limitations of Medicaid and Medicare as well, so talking that up as a slogan is not the reassurance it may appear to be. To me it's like, oh yeah, that awful system for which one needs private health insurance on top in order to accomplish almost anything.

How could he forget Obamas name? He's the most clean and articulate black guy Biden knows!
https://dailycaller.com/2019/08/28/does ... me-crimea/Mike PSA: I'm aware this is a far right wing website that I certainly would not base any argument on for its truly a house of sand BUT the video, even without the commentary, is kind of stunning.

Nah. This thread isn't actually a place for discussion. This is just for you to collect Biden stories. Have at it.

I wouldn't click on that, I mean, why? Dude went full neonazi a while ago and hasn't looked back since. They publish material from actual neonazis, had to fire their editor when it became known he was indeed officially a neonazi, and they publish completely false things. I wouldn't trust any video they put up, period. I don't know what Joe Biden did to get you so worked up as to read this stuff, but the true humor is that you would rely on a neonazi site to try to tag Biden for passive racism. Come on, I know you aren't always like this, put away these bad toys!

oh please, they are considered "right wing" but not even on the extreme end according to this well respected website. And I posted it the same reason I post anything, it makes me laugh!
And I'm not sure what "dude" you're talking about, the website in general, because the article was written by a woman! Good grief!

Although I self owned because I didn't really want to talk about the website at all thus my good natured and half joking PSA to reasonable Mike, and then I got sucked into it anyway, good grief but directed at me!

I have a low tolerance for white nationalism because, you know, it's deeply evil! That isn't a garden variety bad conservative site; they have actually published neonazis, sometimes taking those articles down only when called on it, they were just shocked, shocked! that their editor was a neonazi, they've published fabricated stories and doctored video, and they publish white nationalist takes and try to pretend it's normie stuff. Scroll thru a list of their headlines sometime; very indicative. Right now I see they have one about furries, bronies, and transgender people, while Trump admin is in court to argue that lgbt people have no rights against discrimination. Not only is Biden going to protect lgbt rights, you know he would be hugging anyone in a my little pony costume, and not a perfunctory hug but a big warm one. I need a hug to be honest, and I'm not even a hugger.

Believe it or not I'm fine with this, stories, parables, whatever that gets a msg across to a mostly brain dead public who needs some narrative to latch onto for basic understanding.

Oh baloney. I care about this exactly zero. Wake me up when the same people care about Jared and Ivanka, or Don Jr. Who knew Odo would emerge as the least offensive one, lol! I remind myself he enjoys killing leopards and elephants.
