Re: Resumes

I'm getting my resume together for an audition -- I'm on the short list!! -- and I have to pull my resume together again. I don't know how it's been for you folks when working on resumes, but this seems overly complicated. There's no way I can keep it all on 1 page, and then on top of that, the she...

Re: This Happened

Paul was assaulted... again. Just two open wounds, but one hell of a concussion. He's going to be home for a while. Now I'm researching concussion recovery programs in our area and seeing what I can cajole Worker's Comp into referring him to.

Huh, cool! For a minute I really thought this was going to be like the ass pennies video Paul showed me way back in the day.

Re: Would you have another kid?

The short answer: I want absolutely no more children. The long answer: I absolutely LOVE being a parent. I love, love, love it. However, my kid is a perfect fit for my parenting style and that't not always the case and so I'm afraid of not being able to replicate the results. Also, mental illness ru...

Ovipositor. My friends were kind (assholes) enough to link me to it. I'll let you Google that on your own. But maybe not at work.

Re: What Are You Reading?

The Soul of America; The Battle for our Better Angels by Jon Meacham. I heard him on NPR a week and a half ago and he was asked what he thought of the current administration. He gave the most grounded, intelligent, realistic, and hopeful response I'd heard since this disastrous election cycle began....

Re: Giving up as we get older.

Part of it is intimidation. I'm not as good at organizing my thoughts in written form as some people are; 3278, Kyle, Mike, WilliGilligan, Flame, BrotherJustice, and other IRL and online friends and acquaintances are very strong writers. I find it's much easier for me to make a solid argument, have ...

Re: Crowd talkers are sociopaths

Yeah. I've always been good at speaking to crowds. Part of what makes me good at it is that I'm adept at listening to the banter beforehand, listening to the kind of language they use, how they interact with each other, and matching that to make them feel comfortable and secure with my presentation ...

Work: Black dress pants, a kelly green or black shell, black Dansko clogs, pearls on my left wrist, and a long black 3/4 sleeve button up sweater left open. Weekend errands: Tentacle design fitted tee, jeans, matching Chucks. Home - Oversized sweatpants, thick fuzzy socks, an oversized nightgown, an...

I have a jug sitting on my counter with the scoby, and a cotton towel laid over the top. Every couple of weeks I pour off a bottle, leave a little in the bottom, and add more sweet black tea.

Re: Kombucha

Kyle's right - kombucha does virtually nothing for the microbiome. However, I just really like the taste so I have my own little micro-brew of kombucha, with scoby and all. Sometimes I put in cranberry juice, sometimes nothing, sometimes pear juice. I like the light carbonation it gets.

Re: What are you watching?

I finally got to West Wing and holy hell am I glad I did. I'm halfway through season 6 and while it's definitely not as good after Sorkin leaves, it's still pretty good.
