Re: How racist are you?

I am a misanthrope. So I guess you could say I nurture all racisms equally? I've been quoted as saying "I'm not racist, I hate all you barstards equally!" but the opposite could be true. But then, being that my most detested species is Homo sapiens sapiens I might be speciesist ... :deadho...

What I missed while out grocery shopping!

So when I got back dragging in a metric fuck-ton of groceries I sit back and Mrs Walrus tells me about the newest word our daughter has learned. That word Dick (in the form of dick-dick) It followed an incident where Mrs Walrus was telling off one of our cats while carrying Mini-Walrus "T (shor...

Re-Watching the Babylon 5 and the associated movies, with the idea of running a Babylon project game for the upcoming gaming conference. Maybe developing a campaign

To even out the ism's Hitler was instituting a fitness program into Auschwitz "Today, ve vill play sqvash!.... Hans vill drive the steam-roller!" On recieving complaints from the camps, Hitler responded "Zis is a case of mind over matter. We do not mind, and you do not matter!" I...

Re: Podomatic challenge

Ok all, I just submitted a handful of podomatics just for funsies. Now here's the rub Some of them require Mike to work for it, so we gotta hold him too it. And some of them offer job security (as in when it comes up I will submit a follow up) Now some of that requires input. So put your input into...

Re: Episode 5: Mummified Squirrel

A few years ago, we had a squirrel die in our tree, but instead of falling, its foot caught in a branch and it hung there for months. Nothing ever went after the body, and it eventually just dried out. I don't know how it ever came down. One day it was there. The next it wasn't. Ohhh - I can answer...

Re: Apu

It seems to me that when Apu was written, it fell under the bar for racsim. But now, it dates badly. This seems to happen a lot with shows that try to ease into societal issues. Look at how "Friends" handled lesbians - progressive at the time, pretty stereotyped and crappy these days. Ther...

Re: Sometimes Pro-Life

The 'pro-life' movement is horrendusly miss-named. If you want to call them 'pro' something, then call them pro-birth. the group is anti-education, anti-science, anti-women. anti-humanity in most measurable ways. My response to "I'm a pro-lifer" is usually, "you're a bigoted self cent...

Walrus's ultimate pasta salad

Walrus's Ultimate Pasta Salad So this dish is an excercise in variation, I've never measured the ingredients, and never put in the same combo or mix, but here goes. Start by bringing about 2 litres of water to the boil. Adding some olive oil too the water helps stop the pasta sticking to itself. Pan...

Beefa (as in B fa bacon or B fa breakfast) Spalding (don't know about there, but Spalding is a company that packages bacon here) Crackling - best part of a pork roast of course Boy in Blue - because everyone hates it when the pigs show up ... Picnic - as in a picnic shoulder roast Victor Fries (Mr F...

Re: 3D Printed Guns

Exactly. And keep in mind, private sales don't just happen at gun shows. That "loop hole" is really just due to the fact that a gun show brings a lot of people interested in guns together. Of course solving the problem of people using printed guns by making regular guns easily available i...

Re: What's For Dinner?

Today was left overs from yesterday. Chicken drumsticks marinaded and cooked in teriyaki marinade, with rice made with tinned Fava beans. Served alongside a pasta salad of my own inventing (yesterday just served with frozen veg)

Leftovers are great for exhausted days.

Re: 3D Printed Guns

just curious, if you were say mentally unstable and unable to officially buy a gun, why spend thousands on a 3d printer? why not just go to a gun show, spend a few hundred on a private sale and get just what you want? no checks required.

Re: 3D Printed Guns

Hey, slow down... we only weaponized it so quickly because finding ways to use it for sex were less practical. Oh wait... we do that too. I mean look... there's always bad actors at the fringes, and they get a lot of press, but look at the vast number of stories about 3D printed items being used fo...
