Re: All things COVID-19

I'm sick of hearing the phrase "the new normal." I think that's the basis of a hugely successful article/webinar that I should do: "'May You Live in Interesting Times': A Deep-Dive into Leveraging the New Normal." If you want to get rich you could charge people for this. You hav...

I shave my head, so haircuts is not a problem I have.

I have decided to let my beard grow, though. I normally keep it short. Maybe I'll end up looking like a Civil War general.

I haven't been a football fan for years, but when I was younger I was a huge Dolphins fan, and Shula was incredible. Very successful and also coached with class and professionalilsm.

Re: Drunk Posting

I don't know as I'm actually drunk, but close enough. Was having a good day today. Then got blindsided with some pictures of a friend of mine who died about 18 months ago. Then saw some things online that brought back all the ways that I suck. The worst part, in some ways, is that other people have,...

Re: All things COVID-19

I woke up feeling crappy. So of course I'm now worried that I have COVID-19. I'm sure I don't, but that shows the quarantine mindset.

Re: All things COVID-19

I imagine most schools have not fully addressed the technology aspects for all students to do full remote teaching. Not everyone has home internet access and a computer. Even supplying cheap laptops only partially addresses the issue. Given that, it's like you're punishing kids for their situation....

Re: All things COVID-19

I have 105 students. On Thursday the 16th, they got their first real assignments from me--2 things, due yesterday. Twenty-nine of them turned in neither. I'm not sure what the counts is for those who turned in only 1, but it's a lot higher. Yeah, our high school teachers have been sending out annou...

Re: All things COVID-19

I had to deliver groceries to my father-in-law this morning (he's got severed COPD, so he can't do much for himself). I drove past a 7-11, and saw a whole lot of day laborers. It must be incredibly tough for them right now. A lot of people in my neighborhood, I think, are day laborers (or just a ste...

Re: All things COVID-19

Stay in place has been extended until May 15. Mrs Darcs has been told to start taking sick days and vacation time for the next 2 weeks, and will then go down to quarter-time employment. As of 8 PM tomorrow, we are all supposed to be wearing masks out in public. Any hope I've built up so far has bee...

WOTC is giving away some free stuff this week, including adventures, coloring pages, and Roll20 adventures. https://dnd.wizards.com/remote/freematerial The two Roll20 adventures are Lost Mines of Phandelver and Sunless Citadel, two decent intro level adventures. Even if you never play them, getting...

Re: Online D&D

The firs session went pretty well. Hangouts isn't bad. We did character creation, then did the very beginning of a dungeon. We're going to try switching to Roll20, but at first I think we're just using it for voice and video plus die rolling. I haven't figured out mapping; I'm doing my own dungeon, ...

Re: Can’t sleep

I have my meds adjusted many times. Most recently I added one. I've been taking lamotrigine and nortryptilene (I probably spelled those wrong) for several years, and at the beginning of this year my psych added Trintellix. I can't tell if it's making a difference. Things seem okay for a while, then ...
