Re: [The Jeweled Heart]

I can multitask. I just need to finish a few things to start on the other thing.

I thought my asthma had been worse for the last month. No. mild pneumonia.

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I w...

Re: Back to Basic

I still haven't finished the maps, will try to finish them tonight and we'll start soonish. I've mapped out ~50 dungeons/sites in the area. No I didn't create 50 dungeons - I took classic and recent ones and one pagers and decided which area they'd be. So, there's something to do which ever way you ...

Re: Back to Basic

Sweet.

I hoped to have the maps done by now but work has been crazy, and I'm spending much of the weekend working to catch up. We should be ready to start.

Everyone who is still in, please post a character.

Re: Back to Basic

Chargen info: roll 3d6 7 times. The first 6 are your ability scores in order. The 7th is an extra you can use to replace any one score. Do this twice and pick a set of scores. You may remove 2 pts from other scores to raise another ability score by 1; do this only once. Starting gold is (2d6*10) + 8...

Re: Back to Basic

Here's a basic idea. I'll have two area maps (underground and surface) in a few days. I'll also have info on some locations. Magic is in the air. Literally. And it's not all good magic. Sure, there’s tinkling sounds from nowhere and talking butterflies who know where you left your shoes. But the mag...

Re: Back to Basic

Aswesome. I'll post more details in a couple of days. Here's the rules we'll use, legall free: http://www.goblinoidgames.com/labyrinthlord.html If you're familiar with Basic, it's Moldvay with a few tiny tweaks, mainly for copyright reasons. Clerics get a spell at 1st level and don't have the weird ...

Back to Basic

I've got the itch to get back into gaming. I've got plans for a pbp game using Basic rules - actually Labyrinth Lord as it's free and 95% similar to Moldvay Basic. It's going to be a sandbox dungeon crawl. The surface has been devastated by uncontrolled magic. You are a refugee or sorts in a Dwarven...

Re: [The Jeweled Heart]

I'm still up for it. I like the story and the writing. But it feels like Tahlvin and I are the only active players; characters without players are weighing things down. Poke Caz and Master to starting checking in again.

Tahlvin, I've always known you to be a good and strong person. This proves it more. I'm glad you're all handling things well. Growing up is hard enough as it is without the increased potential for being singled out as the target of prejudice. I can't know what you're going through but I do have an i...

Re: Is Gluten my enemy?

Getting a picky eater to eat new stuff is hard. I know from experience.

By the way, I checked and, despite the name, buckwheat isn't even a grain. It's a flower seed and gluten free. However, most soba noodles are often made with a mix of buckwheat and wheat.

Re: Any go players?

I've taught myself to play several years ago. But I can't even remember the rules now. I found a phone app for it, so I'm thinking of relearning the rules enough to play on the phone. I really like the concept of the game but never found the time to really do it. If I recall, Flameblade plays compet...
