Re: Level Up: Chapter IX
I love Hut for resting at night and whatnot... I've always loved the rope trick/tiny hut/secure shelter type of spells. I'm split on my second 4th level spell... I've taken Greater Invisibility, but I can't decide if I want something like Emergency Force Sphere, Communal Darkvision, or a boomier spe...

Re: Level Up: Chapter IX
Mike, I've got Displacement and Confusion, so I'd lean towards something like Tiny Hut (one of my personal favorites) or Arcane Concordance.

Man, I'm pumped about this one... Reminds me of a game I played in college that was a homebrew a buddy of mine made called "Shattered Worlds", but less Star Trek and more Firefly... This will be great!

Survey Time! Name your favorite "bad" movie
I love to hear people's thoughts on goofy topics like this.
What is everyone's favorite "bad" movie?
Mine's easy... Starship Troopers.

Re: Trump
I really struggle with the idea that someone who has said the things he has will "put our country back where it needs to be". The man is a racist, sexist, arrogant fascist. Nothing about that should guide our country anywhere at any time. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. But, as...
Re: Trump
For what its worth, the analyses took into account both his personal wealth and the wealth generated by his multitudinous corporations. And keeping those separate is how he can claim to have never declared bankruptcy when his corporation have done it 4 times at least. Here's the issue. By voting for...

Re: Bus travel
Anyone have experience with cross country commercial bus travel? I do, and none of them are very good... Though I am VERY prone to motion sickness, and buses for whatever reason REALLY exacerbate the symptoms. I get sick EVERY time I ride a bus. I used to take Greyhounds to Buffalo with regularity ...

Thank you so much for posting this. I hope that if either of my children has the same experience, I can respond with as much grace and understanding as you have. As you said, he will face challenges in the world. It's wonderful that they won't come from home. One of the things that I have experience...

Re: Hook Mountain
Yeah, I didn't want to assume that the other stone giant was a spellcasters, though it seems likely. The other valuable notes we got from the remaining black arrows: The Kreeg are led by someone named Grolki. Its not clear whether or not he was scouted out last night. The Kreegs are known to occasio...

Re: Hook Mountain
I'm personally in favor of a direct approach. I don't like the idea of fighting at least 2 spellcasters, a dozen regular ogres and at least 3 Kreeg ogres at the same time. I think we can come up with a way to get the sentries away from the entrance and deal with them, and then deal with the ogres in...

Re: Calendar (Spring 2016)
No, all I meant was we might not be comfortable racing up into what might be messy situations without them, that maybe we recon, be circuitous, and figure out what we'll be facing and try not to get into a fight with any lamias until we're all back together

Re: Calendar (Spring 2016)
If I remember correctly, we'll be heading back up to The Hook in this next session... I think we'd all feel much safer if we didn't go too far without Dwyn and Illian with us, so I wouldn't worry too much about missing Thursday.

Re: Any go players?
I think of my chess playing in a similar vein to my miniscule ability to write music... yes, there are ways to do it that haven't been done before, but people that are MUCH better than me at these pursuits, and my chess playing has gotten considerably better since I started memorizing the openings a...

I'm sort of where Mike is... I've played in a couple of times, but it's very difficult to wrap my head around.
I've been playing some more chess lately, myself.

Re: Kitchen Cooked
We mostly have Wegmans' up here, which is nothing to complain about, but my favorite chip growing up was the old Deli Kettle Cooked chips... they were in a purple bag, if I remember correctly. They were great... When I'm craving chips, I generally get the Cape Cod reduced fat kettle chips, but they ...

My favorite small notebook hands down is the Leuchtturm 1917. It's sort of like a Moleskine on steroids. They're awesome.

I think she'd count... anytime someone is famous enough that their name is a trending topic on Twitter when they die, they're eligible.

Re: Fantastic Four
Good point... I particularly enjoyed one of Marvel's many alternate futures, I think it was from after the Days Of Future Present storyline, the mid-90s maybe... Darcs can correct me if I'm off too badly, as he's likely seen it more recently than I have. Franklin Richards and Rachel Summers, two of ...
