Not once but twice

As a teacher, I've supervised lots of field days, sporting events, and the like. And today, for the first time, I got hit by a ball--a football to the back of the neck. Then a little while later I got hit in the face with a basketball.

Better a football and basketball than a baseball, shotput, or hammer throw. But sucks nonetheless. Hope it doesn't hurt too bad.

I'm usually more the thrower then the smacked when it comes to balls being lobbed. In college I've had a football slip from my hand and slam a girl walking by in her face. She was in tears as her friends consoled her to her building. I will always feel guilty for that. Wasn't the only time that's happened. So much so I once had a dream I was skipping rocks and one swerved backwards and hit someone giving them a concussion. I assume that subconscious lesson was: "you can never be happy", because skipping rocks is my happy place.

What do you think about year round school with two week breaks between 11-week quarters? I think I'm for it. Not sure.
