Top 10 Movie List

Bucket and I make a top 10 list every year. Usually we start thinking about it in March when we've had the time to watch most of the previous year's films. I figured I'd make a place to record it. Anyone else is welcome to participate. Pretty simple, just rank your top 10 for films that came out in the same calendar year. We combine both documentary and fiction, but I'm usually slow to watch documentaries. I'll update the first post as people lock their lists.

Went to update my ongoing 2016 list and didn't have much to add. I wonder if this year will be a bad one?

I know Deadpool will make my list, along with Finding Dory and Ghostbusters.

I always preferred making my lists a "top 10 movies first watched this year", therefore I can throw a "The Red Shoes" or something in there, and since I'm less and less able to watch new movies in the calendar year.

Now I'm with Caz, I have seen 2 new movies this year (Finding Dory & Zootopia) and maybe 2 "new to me" old movies this year.

That said, thanks to my toddler, I've seen "Singing in the Rain" so many times I could write a book.

This is not a great year so far.

For sure, I have Deadpool and Nice Guys on my list... I'm with Caz on those.

I loved Finding Dory, and I just saw (and really enjoyed) Lights Out, but neither of those feel like movie greats.

Movies from this year that I haven't seen and have really high hopes for: 10 Cloverfield Lane, Ghostbusters, Swiss Army Man, and Green Room. I'll be thrilled if half of them are as good as I'm hoping.

Oh crap. Thanks for reminding me about Green Room. That's number 1 on my list so far.

I'll add The Nice Guys to my list. I'm a fan of Shane Black. I also saw Lights Out and enjoyed it.
